Tenor XI: A group of tenors who specialise in the tenor solo repertoire; singing together & solo they offer songs both traditional & modern. Graham Community Choir: Originally formed as the Can't Sing Choir in 2001 with 8 members, the choir has gone from strength to strength. The main emphasis of the choir is always on fun and enjoyment. The choir moved to being part of Graham School Community programme in 2006 and was renamed the Graham Community Choir. The choir under its conductor Bill Scott is proud of its no audition and open membership policy. U3A Choir join with the St. Mary's Church Choir: It is a delight to welcome back both these choirs. U3A" provide popular pieces from the shows new and old, while St. Mary's is one of the finest exponents of sacred music in the area- they both have the same, very talented Musical Director Mr. Hugh Penny, so we are guaranteed an interesting and enjoyable evening. St. Augustine's Choir & Jazz Orchestra: The Choir was started eight years ago and is hugely popular. Their repertoire ranges from classical to Queen and includes songs from musicals such as Sister Act, and traditional African numbers. The 50 strong Choir performs many concerts throughout the year in Scarborough, and also further afield to places such as York and Middlesbrough. They are currently planning to enter an International Music Festival held in Ireland in 2010. The Jazz Orchestra was formed in 2007 They play a range of musical styles including blues, soul, funk and swing classics. The Malton Male Voice Choir: We are most fortunate to be able to welcome them back to South Cliff this year. Their musical director is Mr. Christopher Thornton-Holmes whose professional musical pedigree is well known to us from previous visits. Village Voices: Are a very talented group of lady singers who never fail to delight with their varied repertoire. Tenor XI: See above. Manhatton Voices: Led by Sue Hartley (pianist). A group of very talented performers, they present contemporary works with an energetic, lively approach which delights their audiences. The Ayton Ladies Choir: Are established favourites at South Cliff and have long been regarded by many as one of the leading Ladies Choirs in the area. Frank James and friends: Frank is one of Scarborough's premier musicians with a professional background. John Noblet & Friends: John a baritone studied music under Heddle Nash at the Royal Manchester College of Music. He has sung in harmony on B.B.C. television in the black and white days! He is very ably accompanied by Hugh Penny. Yorkshire Wolds Versatile Brass: They are a five piece versatile brass ensemble, who enjoy performing high quality music together. The ensemble was formed in 2004 by founder members; Tim Priestley, Craig Gaskell and Steve Ornsby. The name "Yorkshire Wolds Versatile Brass" was chosen as members of the ensemble live near the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Pat Richardson, Lesley Machen, Kathryn Irwin and Ken Thwaites: Outstanding baritone and soprano solos and duets with a wide repertoire. Accompanied by Ken. Bridlington Classic Pop Singers: Bridlington Classic Pop Singers are a group of around 40 people who perform 1960's/70's Classic Pop songs free of charge for Charity Fundraising, and in support of other good causes. Our concerts/shows are very popular because we dramatise some of the more lively songs, and combine dance movements, and the colour of dress from the era to help the audience hear, feel and experience the atmosphere of the 1960's and 1970's The Two Rogers: Make a welcome return this year together with their accompanist, Ken Thwaites. Their programmes are always enjoyable and we look forward to them with great pleasure, particularly the original compositions, arrangements and presentation of the various items. September 13th (Last Night of the Season): Vivienne England, Malcolm Peart and the "Other Three Tenors" always manage to produce a lively and interesting programme of solos, duets and group pieces each of them have outstanding but different tenor voices. |
